Learning Foreign Languages
In schools all over the world boys and girls are learning foreign languages。 Many adults are
doing so in their spare time。 Everybody knows his own language， but to know another is very useful。
Which is the best way to learn a language? We should remember we all learnt our own language well when we were children。 If we could learn a second language in the same way， it would not seem so difficult。 Think what a small child does。 It listens to what people say and tries to imitate what it
hears。 When it wants something， it has to ask for it。 It is using the language。 It is talking and thinking in it all the time。 If one has to use a second language all the time， he would learn it quickly。
It is important to remember， also， that we learn our own language by hearing people speaking it not by seeing what they write。 We imitate what we hear。 In school， though you learn to read and write as well as to hear and speak， it is best to learn all new words through the ear。 Of course you also learn to read them， spell them and write them。
世界各地的學(xué)校中孩子們都在學(xué)習(xí)外語(yǔ)。很多成年人在業(yè)余時(shí)間也在學(xué)習(xí)外語(yǔ)。每人都懂自己的母語(yǔ)，但知道另一門語(yǔ)言也非常有用。
學(xué)習(xí)外語(yǔ)最好的方法是什么呢?我們應(yīng)當(dāng)記得我們是孩子的時(shí)候，自己的母語(yǔ)都學(xué)得非常好。如果我們能以同樣的方式學(xué)習(xí)第二種語(yǔ)言，那看起來(lái)就不會(huì)這么難了。想想小孩是怎樣做的。孩子聽(tīng)人們說(shuō)話然后設(shè)法模仿聽(tīng)到的東西。當(dāng)他需要什么東西的時(shí)候，必須去要。他是在使用語(yǔ)言。他一直在用語(yǔ)言說(shuō)話和思考。如果一個(gè)人必須始終
使用第二語(yǔ)言，他就會(huì)學(xué)得很快。
而且，記住我們學(xué)習(xí)母語(yǔ)時(shí)是通過(guò)聽(tīng)別人說(shuō)話而不是看別人寫字，這也很重要。我們模仿我們聽(tīng)到的。 學(xué)校中，雖然你除了學(xué)習(xí)聽(tīng)說(shuō)，還學(xué)習(xí)讀寫，但學(xué)習(xí)所有新單詞最好是通過(guò)耳朵。當(dāng)然你也要學(xué)會(huì)閱讀、拼寫和寫作。
